ARBOREAL
As a forester, my life revolves around trees in one way or another. Something that strikes me about these subjects is the endless variability and unique power of expression each individual, or perhaps multiple, tree has. Whether it is the form of the branches, alignment of the bole, direction of the leaves, texture of the bark, or even the environment a tree grows in, there is always something particular that catches my attention and spurs further observation of the subject.
Trees, given their varying characteristics in age, history, and growth represent an environmental legacy of the landscape. Northern California has some of the most diverse forests on the planet. What better place to explore this subject.
