Archival Fine Art Prints & Framing
Prints
Currently, prints are sold matted and framed, the purpose being to provide a one of a kind, intentional, and high-quality piece of artwork that can be cherished for a lifetime. The frame and matting is a work of art, like the photographic print itself, and together they represent the end result of a long and thoughtful process. If you order a framed print from me, the print package includes a signed, limited edition print, mounted with a museum quality archival mat and backing, all presented in a handmade wooden straight frame. Important aspects of the presentation include; a large bottom weighted white mat, an additional 1/2 inch exposed white border on the print, and signature/edition/year photo was created, all displayed on the back of the print and out of sight. These elements provide for a simple, focused, and elegant presentation suited well for all types of spaces.
Framed prints are made to order upon request, but at times there will be pre-made framed prints found in the store below. Maybe the one you want will already be there waiting for you! All images are proofed and test-framed to assure consistency in quality and design. If the print you want is not available here, all that means is the image has not gone through a full proofing yet. If there is an image displayed on the website that is not currently available as a print, please reach out to me for availability and a potential production timeframe.
All fine art prints are produced by the Northern California based Bay Photo Lab and archival mats, backing, and glass are sourced and cut by Eureka’s Art Center Frame Shop.
Frames
Frames are custom-made by myself and are centered around 2 different sizes of print (see print size/specifications below). Currently, frames are constructed out of various hardwood and softwood species, but material may vary based on availability, and the desire of the client. I am always open to requests for a certain type of wood given I can source it locally.
Traditionally, high-quality hardwood lumber has been the standard for framing due to its durability, strength, and aesthetic quality. Redwood, especially re-purposed old-growth lumber, given its tight-grained nature and rot resistant qualities, can be equally as durable and incredibly beautiful, given the proper care. Ask me about my salvaged redwood frames!
Currently, I am only framing my photographic prints, but am open to discussing potential custom framing projects involving other artwork.
